REVIEW: ELF Studio Makeup Mist & Set



I made a HUGE purchase from ELF when they were having the 50% off Studio Line and one of the things I got was this Makeup Mist & Set Spray.  I usually use Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray, but I thought I'd give this a try because it was so inexpensive.  For the most part, I like it.  It works just as well as the UD one.  My only issues are the smell.  It's made with cucumber and it really does smell like it, but I think I can get over it.  Another thing is the size.  On the site it looks much different, but it's really small.  I didn't look at the amount on the site, but it is only 2 oz.  All you have to do is spray on after makeup application to set makeup in place or during the day for a quick touchup to refresh. After you have applied your makeup spray a light mist 12-16 inches from your face with eyes closed to set your makeup in place or use for a quick touchup throughout the day to refresh your makeup. Let it dry naturally or blot with a tissue to help speed dry.  It does dry pretty quickly and it doesn't drip at all, but you do have to make sure to hold it far from your face like it says to because the mist does come out in a decent amount and it pretty much covers the entire face with one spray.  I only paid $1.50 for it because of the 50% off sale, but it retails for $3.  This is definitely a good buy for someone who wants a setting spray but doesn't want to spend all the money on the higher end ones.

REVIEW: ELF Limited Edition Glitter Brush Set

ELF Cosmetics is a great inexpensive line of makeup.  Their Studio Line just happens to be my favorite out of three that they have.  They recently had a sale where the Studio Line was 50% off so I definitely took advantage of that.  One of the things I got was this Limited Edition Glitter Brush Kit.  It comes with 11 Studio Line brushes and the handles of each of them are black with glitter all over (don't worry they glitter is in the enamel and won't come off).  Each brush is anti bacterial and are synthetic haired Taklon.  These brushes are really soft and absorbent.  They can either be used with wet or dry products.  They all come in a very sleek black zip up case which is really convenient.  The brushes in this kit are as follows:

This kit is perfect for a beginner makeup artist, someone who just loves makeup, or it even makes a great gift.  I only paid $15 because I got it half off, but it retails for $30, which isn't a bad price since the brushes are of good quality.



Sigma Complete Brush Kit with Roll~PINK



I'm sure many of you have heard of Luuux and if you haven't, now you have lol.  I've been a member of the blogging site for a couple of months now and one of the prizes I've gotten from blogging is this Sigma Complete Brush Kit.  I also received one of the heart shaped mirrors they have on their site as well.  I've been using these brushes for several weeks now and I have to say that I am very impressed.  These are the first Sigma brushes that I've tried and I will definitely be buying some more.  The kit contains 12 brushes and the brush roll.  The kit has natural bristle brushes as well as a couple of synthetic bristle brushes.  They are great when it comes to blendings and application.  The application comes out flawless.  Each brush is soft in touch and has minimal fall out.  The only thing I had a problem with at first was that the brush handles are heavier than I was use to, but I've gotten use to them and have discovered that it actually helps with the application process.  Here is a list of all the brushes you get with this kit (from the Sigma site):

Small Angle - E65 - Essential for the application of gel or cream eyeliner on the upper and lower lash line. This brush is also excellent for filling out the eyebrows. Synthetic bristles.

Medium Angled Shading - E70 - Angled, tapered, flat top. Ideal to apply highlight shades underneath the eyebrow and on the inner corners. It can also be used for a precise application of darker shades on the crease area. Natural bristles.

Tapered Blending - E40 - Rounded and tapered top. Specially designed to apply and blend color on the crease. Natural bristles.

Eye Shading - E55 - Soft and dense with a rounded finish. Can be used to apply pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. Ideal to build intense color on the eyelid. Natural bristles.

Eyeliner - E05 - An extra-fine tipped synthetic fiber brush that delivers a precise, firm, even stroke to line the eyes.

You also receive a free travel size E25 brush which is a blending brush.
